Transitions Lenses leave People In The Dark!
8:02pm - May 08, 2008
- Colin Costello -

Web Messaging (NOT) -- Transitions lenses are those cool eyeglass lenses that switch back and forth from sunglasses to regular glasses, based on how light it is in the location you are.

The only problem with them is………that well………..they don't work. They don't switch back and forth in a sufficient time period, which becomes more of a nuisance then a convenience, and they don't switch to sunglasses mode while in an automobile.

In sounds like I'll be waiting until they perfect the technology, before I give them a try!!

Have Blockbuster's Days Been Numbered?
7:49pm - May 07, 2008
- Colin Costello -

Web Messaging (NOT) -- As I have been saying for years, blockbuster is in serious trouble of going belly up. If you take a look at their stock, you will see that, they have been in fact plummeting for years.

It's too late now to short sell their stock, as it has virtually hit rock bottom. But how I wish I had had the money to short sell their stock many years back when I realized technology was going to obliterate the rental industry.

My advice to all would be to monitor Netflix's stock for opportunities to short sell, as eventually movies on demand from your cable provider and streaming movies online will obliterate the rental industry by mail as well.

I'm not saying that Netflix will crash and burn for sure, but I am saying that if they don't change their business model to meet technological advances, their future doesn't look to promising.

Looking For A Winter Getaway?
4:41pm - May 07, 2008
- Colin Costello -

Web Messaging (HOT) -- If you have always wanted that sunny home away from home, now might not be a bad time to act! Especially if you're a Canadian like myself.

With the American dollar still struggling, and the collapse of the U.S. real estate market, deals can be found nearly anywhere.

Owners of cookie cutter condominiums, that have been forced to sell, have been put in a very unfortunate situation. With dozens of others selling virtually the exact same piece of real estate, it gives an unbelievable amount of leverage to the buyer.

Even if your not looking for a winter getaway, purchasing a property as an investment wouldn't be a bad idea. Most of these properties that are for sale were worth double or even triple, not that long ago.

Just think of the possible return on your investment, when the U.S. economy straightens itself out.

Josh Hamilton Hits Balls, And I Don't Mean Eight Balls!
4:12pm - May 07, 2008
- Colin Costello -

Web Messaging (HOT) -- The former 1st overall pick in the 1999 MLB draft has finally dropped the drugs and is showing people what scouts saw in him over a decade ago!

Hamilton is having a breakout year, leading the American League in RBI's by a margin of 8, and the entire Majors by 4, with Nady and Berkman close on his trail with 32 RBI's a piece. These are unbelievable stats for an individual who has struggled so hard to find sobriety.

Also, worthy of mentioning, Hamilton is in second place in the AL for most homeruns, with 7, and has a very respectable batting average of .299.

Facebook Flops with Chat Application
1:17pm - April 30, 2008
- Colin Costello -

Web Messaging (NOT) -- Facebook Chat doesn’t seem to offer anything more to the user, then the original way that you send a message. Yes it may be a little more sleek then the original way, but it serves the exact same purpose.

Does Facebook have plans to rid itself of the old way of sending messages? Or do they plan to keep both ways around?

The biggest problem with the chat, is that people want to chat wherever and whenever they want. You cant make an application that limits its use to one site and think its going to be a hit. It just doesn’t work.

Grand Theft Auto IV Getting Killer Reviews
12:09pm - April 30, 2008
- Colin Costello -

Web Messaging (NOT) -- Does it cause worry that the new edition of the GTA series is mopping the floor with perfect scores from nearly every reviewer out there?

The violence in this game is extremely gruesome, and with all the positive feedback it is getting, is there the possibility that some people out there could get the wrong message? I was at a video game lounge last night and they were restricting play to people over the age of 17. In fact not only were they restricting play to people above the age, but nobody was allowed to play the game if someone under the age was even in the building.

If this game is so brutal, shouldn’t we take more precaution in how we go about releasing reviews? The last thing we want is for every little Joe, Dick, and Harry to feel the need to pick up a machine gun, and to start firing at everything in sight, because that is what the reviewers have told them too do!

What are your thoughts?

Web Messaging (HOT) -- It only makes since to make the first post, on our new Hot or Not page, about our new website Ceasys. You can now simply start a conversation with your friend, on whatever page you are visiting, and your friend will be notified via the Ceasys Toolbar that you have started a communication with them.

Thanks to Ceasys, tasks that people used to find so tedious, have now become so simple.
